About Us
Hello, my name is Zimra.
I have always been fascinated by how music can travel across borders, cultures, and languages. Growing up, I often listened to gospel songs from different parts of Africa.
Even when I didn’t understand every word being sung, I could still feel the sincerity, devotion, and joy in the music. Over time, that curiosity grew into a desire to understand the exact message behind the songs.
This blog was created from that personal journey. Many powerful gospel songs are written in African languages such as Swahili, Yoruba, Zulu, Twi, Lingala, and many others.
While these songs are widely loved, the meaning of their lyrics is sometimes lost for listeners who do not speak the language. I realized that even a simple translation could help someone connect more deeply with a song they already loved.
What started as a small effort to translate a few songs gradually grew into a dedicated space where people can find African gospel lyrics translated into English.
Each translation is written with the intention of helping readers understand not only the words being sung but also the spirit and message behind them.
Accuracy and respect for the original message are very important here. Many African languages contain poetic expressions, cultural references, and spiritual phrases that do not always translate word-for-word into English.
Because of this, the goal of each translation is to communicate the closest possible meaning while preserving the heart of the song.
This blog continues to grow as new songs are discovered and translated.
Over time it has become a small but meaningful library of translated gospel lyrics for listeners who want to follow along with songs, understand the message being shared, or simply explore the richness of African worship music.
Feedback and corrections are always welcome. Language is complex, and many songs include regional pronunciations or dialect differences.
If you notice an error or have a helpful suggestion, you are encouraged to share it so that the translation can be improved for everyone who reads it.
At its heart, this blog exists for a simple reason: to make the message behind gospel music easier to understand and share with more people. Whether you are here to study the lyrics, learn the meaning of a song, or discover worship music from another culture, you are always welcome here.
